Little Snow pt. 4

He was standing next to the woman who helped him earlier. He learned that her name is Adelheid Suzuki, and she allowed him to call her Adelheid. She's kind. At least in Gelaro's opinion. She promised that she would bring him back to his dad, but she said she need to talk with her friends first. So that's how he ended up standing next to her, listening to her talking to her friends in a language that he hadn't learnt: Japanese. Gelaro noticed that the Adelheid's friends were as strange as she is when it comes to their looks. One of them was so fat that Gelaro thought he wouldn't be able to walk through a door without tearing them apart. Another has a hair so red Gelaro almost mistook him to be a tomato. And another one has his hair styled so weird Gelaro wanted to laugh; his sense of politeness is the only thing that stops him. He noticed that sometimes they would look at him as if they were uncertain about some things. For what reasons, Gelaro couldn...

Breaking Point

"I know it's not my place to say it, but it's painful." The wind blew their face, making their long hair sways gently behind them. Still, their gazes are fixed on an indefinite point far ahead. The man didn't give her his response yet, so she continued. "I know I am no longer a part of that world, but my heart still can feel; it's hurt." A single tear rolls down on her pale cheek. It destroys her beautiful countenance. Still, the man said nothing, so she took the initiative to go on. "I know I can do things no longer to sway what happened there, and I hate myself for it. "I hate my pride. I hate my kindness. I hate this feeling of love that still lingers in me even though I will be able to be with him no longer!" At that, she finally breaks down. The tears just wouldn't stop falling out of her eyes. She covered her eyes, but it helped little from keeping the drops from staining her white silk dress. He turned to loo...

Little Snow pt. 3

It was a mere curiosity. The moment he stepped out of the car—which had brought them to the hotel they rented—Gelaro saw a cat. A black cat. He never saw a black cat in the Island before, so he tried to follow and catch it, just to see it in closer view. When he finally lost sight of the cat, which seemed to be afraid of him, he noticed that he was standing in a place that he couldn't recognize. Looking left and right, all he could see was roads and junctions. And houses, which were surrounded by high walls. As he walked further and further to find a clue where the heck he was, he saw a big, black, stray dog. It was growling menacingly at him for a reason that he couldn't fathom, and Gelaro, though still considerably young, knew that he need to run away or else he would be bitten. And that's what he did, running. Running while wailing, to be exact. He forced himself to run as fast as possible. He didn't care where his legs would led him to. All he knew that ...

Little Snow pt. 2

He had been in Japan for an hour, but already the country fascinates him. His father told him the names of various buildings that they saw and passed along the way from the airport to their hotel. There is a bakery, a shop, a mall, a hospital, and many more. It was nothing like what they have in Catafalco Island. "Oh, Daddy, what is that huge building over there?" Bertesco Nono looked at the direction pointed by his son. "I think that's a school building. It looks big enough to be one. And there's a large yard too, apparently." The word 'school' is not something that little Gelaro had ever heard before. So he asked again. "What's 'school'?" "It's a place where children get to learn how to socialize with others, youngers and elders alike," the older man answered, bemused at his son's curiosity. "Not only that you learn how to do organizational things, you will be taught things like maths or scienc...

The first thing he noticed when he arrived in the foreign land was the absence of trees. But of course, he should've expected it, because that place is an airport , not a forest . Sadly, young Gelaro Bertesco's little brain still hadn't gotten basic common sense. And his father didn't gave him a helpful answer either. "Daddy, this Japan island is weird! There aren't any trees!" "Of course. This is Japan, after all. It's different from our Catafalco Island." Yep. Certainly not helping.
