The night Defteros found out that he had a habit of wandering outside in the middle of the night due to certain issues, the mortal man got him to make a promise that they'll go out for a shopping together to find something that can help stopping his 'bad habit'—a mobile phone.

Actually, the selection of choices were much more than that. Portable audio devices such as mp3 player and iPod were suggested, but they decided to look for cellphones after Asmita noting that he never had one. Ever. Something along the line of cellphones had become as important as staple foods for individuals, especially working adults. Beside, the detective also mentioned that he has an acquaintance who is pretty proficient in this subject and he could get her to give Asmita a good deal on whatever gadget he wanted.

"Why are you going this far for me, someone you just met hours ago?" was the question that slipped out of Asmita's lips before he could stop himself, and didn't get to hear the answer because when Defteros was about to reply him, his cellphone rang and they had to deal with an angry Aspros who wasn't pleased that his little brother was nowhere to be found in the place where he was told to pick him up.

And the question still lingered as he walked beside Defteros now, heading toward one of the electronic centres in the neighborhood. Asmita never visited the place, as he thought he won't buy anything from that place, but now he found himself among the crowds of customers seeking electronic devices they wanted. As he walked while minding where Defteros lead him to, Asmita glanced at the sections of gadgets that they passed. Personal computers, televisions... all sort of tertiary necessities fancied by humans. The place where he lived, Cardinale and Shijima's, only has a television and two telephones, one is for restaurant's use while the other is for personal's; all three devices mostly used by Cardinale.

"We're here."

Asmita averted his gaze from his feet and broke away from thinking about how he would be the second most civilized vampire in their house to look at his surroundings. They had reached the cellphones section, which took over the whole second floor of the building. It was divided by many different brands, but all of them had more or less equal number of customers flocking around their booths.

"Are we going to wait for your acquaintance?" the blond decided to ask, seeing that Defteros had started to turn his head left and right, seemingly in search of something... or someone.

"Yeah, she works here and I've told her that we'll come around this hour so she can find us right away." Sighing after he couldn't find the person he was talking about wherever he looked, Defteros fished out his cellphone out of his pants pocket in order to make a call.

Asmita waited then, but he felt someone approaching them. He turned around right when a woman with long light blue hair jumped at Defteros after carefully sneaking around behind them. The detective's cellphone nearly slipped out of his hand due to the surprise hug.

"Elea!" He groaned in protest.

"Defteros! It's been awhile!" She chirped before breaking her hug, allowing Defteros to turn around and shot her a disapproving look, which only made her to giggle even louder. "Don't frown too much, hun, else you'll get wrinkles sooner than you expected!"

"Considering I used to deal with yours and Kanon's pranks a lot when we were younger, I thought that I would be as wrinkly as a half-century old oracle by now," Defteros rolled his eyes. He turned a little and gestured for Elea to greet Asmita. "Asmita, this is the acquaintance that I told you about, Eleanor. She's my cousin. Elea, this is Asmita, the one who will be needing your assistance."

"Nice to meet you, Asmita. Feel free to call me Elea like Deft does." Smiling cheerily, Elea offered her hand to be shook. When they're done shaking hands, she asked, "Then, let's start, shall we? Deft told me that you know nothing about cellphones, but have you tried to ask around and has a basic idea of what kind of phone that you want to get today?"

Asmita remained silent for awhile. Asking friends... well, earlier that day he was thinking about asking his co-workers about an ideal cellphone for beginners like him, but he didn't get the chance to, mainly because they were surprisingly busy thanks to the unusual amount of customers coming since the restaurant opened for the day. So, no, he didn't have any idea.

Though...

He looked up at Defteros and inquired, "What kind of phone do you use?"

Clearly the blue haired man didn't expect to be questioned. "M-mine? It's Sony E-..." he paused mid-sentence as he realized the strangeness in the abrupt question, "-wait. Why are you asking me?"

"You said you're going to teach me how to use cellphones. It would be easier to teach me if I have the same kind of phone too, wouldn't it?"

The answer was pretty blunt. But it was plausible, so Defteros took no further thoughts about it. Elea, on the other hand, sensed that there was an ulterior motive. Mere guesses soon turned into a rather intriguing deduction in her head, which got her to smile wider and knowingly. Without asking for his permission, she grabbed Asmita's hand and dragged him to a booth.

"Elea-"

"Deft's phone is, last time I checked—which is just two weeks ago or so—is codenamed Iyokan." She started explaining as she dragged the blond still. "His is black casing, so maybe you want to get the white one to, you know, match his?"

* Eleanor is, if you don't notice it, Paradox. Paradox is clearly an alias and her real name isn't stated, so I took the freedom of creating a fanon name for her. Eleanor is the former name of Velia town, a town in Italy and home of Zeno, who was famous for his theory about paradoxes. I'm going to change Harbinger's name as well because it starts to not sit well with me...
