[stashed] Tsukiuta. AU: Omega Verse 2

High school tended to be a rather chaotic period within people's lives. This is especially true for Omegas, who usually had their first Heat around this time.

Some was fortunate to experience it during school breaks, or noticed the symptoms before they head for school so they could instead stay holed up at home until it passed.

Some others weren't so lucky, in that the Heat suddenly strikes as they try to spend a normal school day with their friends.

A school with high pedigree like the one I'm studying in is no exception to cases caused by Omega students who suddenly experienced Heats. General public is mostly not aware of it, as they thought that only Alphas could enroll here and the teachers tried to keep the school's reputation and covered it up. But students can still gossip among themselves, and stories from seniors are considered valuable because most of them are about dark truths that the school tried to hide.

Although I'm not interested in gossips, those stories still reached me, as my best friend Haru is proficient in the field of information gathering, causing him to be more knowledgeable than most of our peers.

However, despite knowing them, I'd always thought that they're stories that wouldn't have anything to do with me. I don't know any Omega, and isn't interested in letting myself get caught up with them and their Heat problems.

It appears that gods refused to let me have my way, though.

Hajime's yawning noise accompanied the sounds of his and Haru's footsteps, as both of them walked down the corridors toward the History Materials Room.

"That was a loud yawn," the brunet couldn't help but chuckle, "Even though Hajime already had his after lunch's nap, I wonder how he still manages to be that sleepy?"

"Who knows. Maybe because today the weather feels so nice."

"You're right. The warmth feels just perfect. But, Hajime, be careful not to sleep during classes, alright?"

"Have you ever saw me sleeping during classes? I told you I don't like letting people see me sleeping." A small pause where Hajime spared a glance to the sight outside, where the afternoon sun's power was lessened with the help of clouds. Just like what Haru said, it's the perfect day to laze around and take a nap. "... But, well, it does feels like a waste to spend the day listening to historical stories."

"I'm sure you're not the only one who have that kind of thought," again, Haru laughed lightly. "But, well, a student's duty is to study. It can't be helped."

Shrugging, Hajime said nothing further to the topic but instead responded with, "Let's just quickly get the materials that the teacher asked and return to our class."

The topic came to a close then, at the right moment because they had arrived in front of the History Materials Room. However, as Haru was about to slid the door open, the movement of his hand stopped. Hajime didn't need to ask what's wrong, because then he noticed the strong scent that seemed to come from within the closed room.

"What is... this stench?" The black haired teen asked as he covered his nose. It's similar to the scent of women perfumes, nauseating and making him want to stop breathing altogether. That's not all that made him feel suffering just by standing still there. As he inhaled more of the corrupted air, he felt that his body grew hot and a voice in his mind tried to persuade him to enter the room.

"Hajime."

He heard Haru calling out to him, so he looked up. That was when he noticed that his best friend's expression was also all scrunched up and a little flushed. He had started making guesses as to what actually happened here, but Haru's words helped him reached a conclusion.

"There's an Omega in Heat in there."

That's why his-- their body reacted the moment they inhaled the scent. It was their instinct as an Alpha. Fortunately, the Omega took the wise choice to cave in a room that people wouldn't normally visit like the Materials Room, although like this Haru and Hajime couldn't get what they need from inside.

"... Haru. Let's inform the teachers." Hajime decided to say, already turning away and ready to leave the perimeter. He felt that he should get away before he inhaled more of the intoxicating scent and lost his self-control.

Haru, however, didn't immediately move from the scene. Instead, he took one step closer, and tried to speak with the person inside:

"... Excuse me, you can hear me, can't you?" No voice was heard responding to the question, but Haru continued anyway. "Please don't leave the room, alright? We'll call the teachers now so they can treat you and get you home. Oh, and, also... try to be quiet while we're away, alright?"

Silence followed then, and Hajime wondered if Haru's words could reach the Omega inside. Not that he worried about the density of the door and walls that separated them from the inside of the room, but more to the fact that Omega in Heat is said to have difficulties retaining a rational mind. And, he feared, that they would have the same difficulties if they remained there any longer, so he repeated:

"Haru."

He didn't have to complete it with a 'let's go', as Haru finally budged from his spot and walked in a rather brisk motion. The black haired teen followed, fell to his pace, and together they rushed to the Faculty Office while trying to remain composed so to not cause any suspicion from the other students roaming in the corridors along the way to their destination.

Upon receiving their information, the teachers immediately acted on it. Two Beta teachers were sent to the Materials Room, armed with Suppressants ― drugs to control Heat, or in other words, to suppress the pheromones that leak from Omega. They would later send the Omega home so he wouldn't stir the Alphas within the school.

The two best friends were dismissed from the office after the teachers thanked them for the information. Their History teacher said that they could return to their classroom and he would take the materials needed by himself later. Even so, Hajime didn't feel like returning to the classroom, and it seemed that Haru shared his thoughts as well because after a few steps away from the office, he said,

"Hajime, how about breathing some fresh air first?"
