He couldn't quite remember how he ended up in this situation, but he was certain of one thing: he wanted to be let out from the contraption that hold him within.

Problem is, he's feeling incredibly weak that he can't even lift his finger.

Something is clearly wrong, which made him feel alerted. However, the more he tried to muster the remaining of his strength, the more hazy his head feels and the more he lost concentration.

Amidst his relenting attempt, he noticed that someone is looking at him from outside.

Takaaki.

But he looks different from the usual Takaaki.

His hair is messy. His skin is losing color, making the blood that trickled down from the crown of his head appears starkly contrasted. His eyes lost the playful shine it usually has, and instead clouded with melancholy.

He wanted to ask, what happened to him, but his voice won't come out.

It's making him feel so frustrated.

It worsen as he saw Takaaki's lips moved as if he's telling him something. The contraption prevented him to hear anything from outside. But watching the way those lips move, he somehow feels like he has an idea what the older man is saying.

Waking up with a jolt, Ouka then noticed that he's in his own room after he's calm enough to scan his surroundings.

It was just a bad dream, it seems.

Though, he wondered why did he end up dreaming that kind of thing. He didn't watch or hear scary stories before he went to bed earlier, and even if he does, he's not the type who can be easily influenced to the point that what he saw or hear will hen appear in his dreams.

Just as he was pondering about it though, he felt something stirred next to him, which startled him.

"... Ouka...?"

For the second time in just a few minutes, Ouka was surprised.

This time because he just realized that Takaaki was sleeping next to him.

Ouka jolting into a sitting position seemed to be the reason Takaaki got pulled out from his own dreamland. The older man drowsily opened his eyes, looking up as he asked with a slightly slurred speech,

"What's wrong...? You looks like you saw a ghost..."

What's wrong?

There are so many things wrong. But Ouka decided to point out what he deemed to be most important first.

"Why are you sleeping in my bed?"

"Why...? Well, you got drunk again, Ouka, so I carried you to your room. But you won't let me go and were throwing tantrums, so I had no other choice but to lie down with you."

Oh.

He did remember that he attended an after-party of a small scale project that he became a part of together with Takaaki. Him ended up getting wasted when his leader is around means that said man had failed in his duty to prevent him from ingesting alcohol for way too much.

"... Sorry for troubling you..."

"It's okay. I'm sorry too, because I couldn't save you from the AD that keeps refilling your glass with alcohols. More importantly, why were you awake? It's still dark outside."

"Well..."

Telling others what happened in the nightmare can help removing the malice from within oneself ― it was just a superstition, but Ouka feels like believing in it for now. Which is why he told Takaaki what the bits he remembered from the dream.

All while listening to the explanation, Takaaki looked heavy-eyed, but at the same time attentive. He waited for Ouka to finish before talking up again.

"I see... no wonder you looked so disturbed."

He put a brief pause before continuing with the next sentence, where he raised one hand to give Ouka's thigh some gentle pats. Like a mother trying to shush her baby to sleep.

"You've let it out, so there should be no problem now. Besides, I'll be with you, so rest assured and get back to sleep, Ouka."

Normally, Ouka would've feel too embarrassed to let Takaaki sleep with him. But, quite oddly, right now he feel like keeping the older man by his side instead. Maybe, he thought, the nightmare still affecting him a little.

Quietly, he lied down on his back again. Takaaki's hand started patting him again, this time on the chest. Ouka feels like he's being treated like a child, but this strangely feels very comfortable and lulling him to sleep. So before he's completely out of light, he used his remaining strength to whisper.

"... Good night, Takaaki."

"Mmhm. Good night."

That was the last thing Ouka heard before he lost his consciousness to Sleep.

But his ears still work even as he sleep, and his body subconsciously shivers as words were whispered to his ear.

The same words he spoken to him through the window of the contraption.

"... Sweet dreams, baby. See you on the other side."
